Slow Food Orlando will be hosting its first Eat Local Week from the 25th through the 31st.

The week of Monday, January 25th is going to be one of gleeful madness for all American locavores.  So, let’s start at the very beginning.
From Monday through Thursday, there will be four, back-to-back WINTER FORAGE CONFERENCES in different locations within the state of Virginia.  Each mini-conference will begin at 8:30am and last until 3:45 in the afternoon.  Topics will differ per site but all have something to do with “Managing Risk in Grazing Systems,” the theme of the series.  You may register on the morning of but I’d highly suggest checking out event details here before you do so.
If you’re in Virginia at this time, why not also hit-up Charlottesville’s Restaurant Week while you can?  Beginning on the 25th and offers ending on the 31st, you can eat like a king (or queen, of course) at a selection of the city’s best restaurants for only $26 per person.  That’s right.  Three courses for just $26.  When you glance over the list of participating eateries, you’ll see what a deal that can be.
The same sort of thing will be happening in Orlando during that very period.  Eat Local Week, as the Central Floridians like to call it, is brought to the state by Slow Food Orlando and will feature 20 producers and 20 restaurants.  This will be the first-ever of such an event for this city, so don’t miss out— it might become historical to area locavores!
