Kluge differentiates its wine tasting experience with flights over sips.
With a friend in town for just one day, I had to be sure to hit only the best spots with her before she went on her way again. What counts to me as one of these not-to-miss places? The Kluge Estate Farm Shop in Charlottesville. A compact cabin for gourmet foods and luxurious wines, it was a no-brainer to visit on our wintry day off. The drive over from Downtown was idyllic; the shop itself had been decorated with just enough garlands and red, perfectly made bows. Inside, we ordered the Kluge Fight and followed each of the six, cone-shaped glassfuls with out-loud readings of the wines’ descriptions and good stories about home. Having four out of the six wines as sparkling made the mood that much more celebratory. Winter cheer is here, for sure.
