Michael,

Thank you for your comment! I have several family members who live there and love it. I will pass on your information when the time arises. Also, in case you have yet to hear of it, I suggest you check out Bundoran Farm in North Garden. It seems to be a sort of updated (and nicely yuppified) rendition of the Farm Colony.

Best,
Serena

I am the planner and landscape architect who concieved, designed, built and sold this project. At the time no one had condominiumized a farm and the thought of homes with a working farm as the main amenity was thought to be askew at best and crazy by most. It worked! I now see so many mistakes in the design and areas for improvement that I have a dream to do another one. If you have any contacts or interested parties please give them my information. Cell 561.371.7526.Thank you

Oh... Wow. I suppose we all should have seen the localwashing from McDonald's coming? Although, if it goes through with it correctly, such a big corporation would have the power to make significant changes. Just imagine: local, organically grown, good meat being served at McD's? HA. That will be the day. But, it may come?!

I love that CSAs are becoming so popular and the USDA recognizes them as a profitable, attractive option for many small farms. I touched upon this report at my blog (http://coldcerealandtoast.com/2010/05/23/defining-local/) as well, and I do hope the discussion continues at the government level to help drive and support the local food movement.
